Description
Marcin Brodowski - "Transience" Series
Acrylic on canvas in a wooden frame, dimensions: 30x40cm, created in 2020.
Marcin Brodowski, a painter born in 1987 in Gdynia, Poland, finds a special place for nature in his artistic expression, particularly the relationship with the sea, sand, and driftwood left by the ocean waves. He resides and works in the Tricity area and has been passionate about painting since his early days. His works bear the influence of abstract expressionists such as Franz Kline and Mark Rothko, as well as the artistic group De Stijl.
In his creations, the artist focuses on the transience of matter, the process of working with materials, and the natural aging effects. He draws inspiration from soil, peat, or sand and incorporates the atmospheric conditions like erosion caused by weather conditions and sun drying. Brodowski manipulates the canvas material by tearing and stitching it with cotton thread, thus creating divisions and composing the image's plane. The result he aims to achieve is a sense of serenity, simplicity, and harmony with nature. His artworks are then framed with natural wood, highlighting their authenticity and giving them a unique character.
Additional information: The artwork comes with a wooden frame painted in black. The overall dimensions with the frame are 31x41cm. The piece includes a certificate of authenticity.
