Description
Marcin Brodowski - Untitled from the "Transience" series.
Acrylic on canvas in a wooden frame, dimensions: 30x40cm, 2020.
Marcin Brodowski, a painter born in 1987 in Gdynia, Poland. His artwork is strongly influenced by his connection with nature, particularly his relationship with the sea, sand, and driftwood washed ashore by the waves. He lives and works in the Tricity area. Marcin has been painting since early on, and his works reflect inspiration from abstract expressionists such as Franz Kline and Mark Rothko, as well as the influence of artists from the De Stijl movement.
The artist focuses on the transience of matter, working with materials and natural aging processes. His pieces are inspired by soil, peat, or sand and are created using atmospheric conditions: paint erosion due to weather conditions and sun drying. Brodowski works with the canvas material by tearing it and stitching it back together with cotton thread, creating divisions and composing the plane of the artwork. The effect he aims to achieve is one of silence, simplicity, and harmony in line with nature. His works are enclosed in frames made of natural wood, emphasizing their authenticity and giving them a unique character.
Additional information: Black-painted wooden frame. Dimensions with frame: 31x41cm. The artwork comes with a certificate.
