Marcin Brodowski - Untitled, acrylic on canvas, 30x40cm
Description
Marcin Brodowski is a painter born in 1987 in Gdynia, Poland. His artwork often explores the concept of transience, with a particular focus on the relationship with nature, especially the sea, sand, and driftwood left behind by the waves. He currently lives and works in the Tricity area.
In his paintings, one can sense inspirations from abstract expressionists like Franz Kline and Mark Rothko, as well as the influence of artists associated with the De Stijl movement. Brodowski's artistic process involves working with the ephemeral nature of materials, natural aging processes, and the effects of weather conditions. He creates his works using soil, peat, or sand in combination with paint, resulting in a fascinating interplay of textures and colors.
Through a combination of tearing and stitching the canvas with cotton thread, the artist composes the planes of his artwork, aiming to achieve a sense of serenity, simplicity, and harmony with nature. His pieces are framed with natural wood, further enhancing their authentic and distinctive character.
The untitled artwork measures 30x40cm and is painted with acrylic on canvas.
